Social media has been ablaze with chuckles and disbelief, with one amused local quipping, ‘Hoping this is photoshopped or else spelling lessons are going to be added to their job description.’ Another simply stated, ‘One job,’ highlighting the face-palm-worthy mistake.

Despite hopes that the blunder was a digital prank, Newshub’s photos confirmed the typo is as real as it gets. Auckland Transport, caught with its letters jumbled, promptly announced plans to correct the spelling snafu by Tuesday night, weather gods willing.
Edward Wright, the man with the plan at AT assured everyone that the quick fix wouldn’t dip into taxpayer pockets. The bill for this slip-up lands squarely on the contracting company responsible for the mix-up. ‘The fix is very minor,’ Wright said.
