Cops were onto the man, however, and he was arrested at the Auckland Domain yesterday, while on his way to meet what he believed was a 14-year-old, but was in fact a sting operation to nab him.
Detective Sergeant Rick Veacock of Auckland Polcie urged parents to ‘listen to their intuition’ and to monitor their children’s online usage.
‘We are also encouraging anyone who might have information that may assist the investigation further to get in contact with us, or if they wish to discuss any matters relating to this offending,’ Veacock told the NZ Herald.
