Armed and dangerous: Cops on the hunt for Hone Kay-Selwyn in Ponsonby murder mystery

Police have launched a manhunt for 31-year-old Hone Kay-Selwyn, the prime suspect in a chilling Ponsonby murder case.

Authorities warn that Kay-Selwyn, who’s also wanted for unlawful possession of a firearm, is considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances.

Detective Inspector Chris Barry of the Auckland City CIB is urging anyone with a tip-off about Kay-Selwyn’s hideout to dial 111 immediately. #

“Do not try to engage him. He’s dangerous,” Barry cautioned, as the community reels from the shock of Sunday evening’s grisly incident.

The cops have been on the man’s trail, gathering clues and urging the public to help reel in Kay-Selwyn to face justice.

“We owe it to the victim’s family to capture him and answer the many questions haunting Ponsonby,” Barry stated.

A special portal has been set up for tips and anonymous information can be passed to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

As the police tighten the net, they remind Kay-Selwyn’s cronies that aiding a fugitive could land them behind bars as accessories to the crime.
