Man dies from shark attack while fishing in Queensland

A 40-year-old man has tragically died after being bitten by a shark while fishing with his family near Humpy Island in Queensland's Keppel Bay Islands National Park.

Emergency services responded to the Saturday afternoon attack, but despite efforts to treat his life-threatening neck injuries, the man succumbed shortly before 6 pm.

A rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene, and police are preparing a report for the coroner. Humpy Island, a popular spot for camping and water activities, remains in focus as authorities investigate the fatal incident.
