Turns out, the lad’s acting chops didn’t quite cut the mustard.
The 29-year-old starlet, who’s not just wearing the director’s hat but also playing the lead in this flick, confessed that Brooklyn’s acting debut was nixed from the final cut – and it’s all because he couldn’t keep his British twang out of a simple “Hi” and loved the camera a tad too much.
Spilling the beans to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicola revealed, “Brooklyn was proper gutted to be cut from his blink-and-you-miss-it cameo. He kept lobbing his one-liner with a hefty dose of British accent and wouldn’t stop eyeballing the lens. I was like, ‘Mate, we gotta roll on. This ain’t working.’”
While Brooklyn got the boot from the movie, Nicola made it clear that her hubby was her rock during filming, offering up oodles of support, despite not making it onto the silver screen himself.
In a twist of family ties, Nicola did manage to sneak her brother, Will Peltz, into the movie, albeit in a role that didn’t quite showcase all he’s got – mainly because she didn’t want audiences scratching their heads wondering why she didn’t end up with the “handsome” guy who’s actually her real-life bro.
With Lola ready to hit the screens, Nicola is buzzing with excitement but admits to a few butterflies about how the film will land with viewers. She gushed, “I’m buzzing for everyone to check it out, though I’m a bit on edge too. I’ve thrown everything I’ve got into this, and I just hope it resonates with folks out there. Fingers crossed!”
