Johnny McNicholl leads Crusaders to victory with two tries against Chiefs

Former Wales winger Johnny McNicholl played a pivotal role in the Crusaders' first win of the Super Rugby Pacific season, scoring a try in each half as they defeated the Chiefs 37-26.

McNicholl’s intercept try in the 63rd minute proved crucial, providing the Crusaders with a vital buffer as they secured a much-needed victory – their first after six rounds.

Despite challenges in set pieces, the Crusaders showed resilience and unity, with captain Tom Christie praising the team’s effort.

McNicholl’s dynamic performance marked his return to Christchurch after eight years, reinforcing the Crusaders’ attacking prowess and boosting their morale.
