Kiwi Alice Robinson secures podium finish at World Cup Giant Slalom in Austria

New Zealand ski racer Alice Robinson overcame nerves from a previous failure to claim third place at the World Cup giant slalom event in Semmering, Austria.

The 23-year-old delivered a steady first run, placing sixth, before an aggressive second run propelled her to her second podium finish of the season and third overall in the standings.

Reflecting on her performance, Robinson described her first run as “conservative” but praised her determined approach in the second.

Italy’s Federica Brignone claimed victory, with Sweden’s Olympic champion Sara Hector finishing second. Robinson now looks ahead to the next event in Slovenia on Saturday.
