Family hits United Airlines with $75K lawsuit after sizzling meal scalds young daughter

In a fiery clash with United Airlines, Michal and Ben Fefferman are turning up the heat with a whopping USD $75,000 lawsuit, claiming their 6-year-old daughter was left 'disfigured' by a scalding in-flight meal.

The drama unfolded during a flight from Israel to Newark in July 2022, when a dodgy tray table turned dinner into disaster.

The hot dish took a dive straight into the young girl’s lap, thanks to a tray table that apparently had one job – to stay flat – but failed miserably.

The Feffermans are roasting United for not keeping their aircraft up to scratch, pointing fingers at the airline for the tray table’s downward tilt that sent the meal sliding.

The spicy lawsuit claims the food was ‘unreasonably hot’, leaving the child to suffer severe burns and endure a 12-hour flight in ‘extreme discomfort’. With flight attendants’ hands tied due to a lack of proper medical supplies onboard, the family’s nightmare at 30,000 feet turned into a legal battle on the ground.

United Airlines is now in the hot seat, accused of negligence for not ensuring safe meal service, maintaining equipment, or providing adequate medical care.

The Feffermans are demanding compensation for their daughter’s burns, scars, and a whole menu of suffering including emotional distress and the inability to ‘savour life’s joys’.
