Putin cracks down on raunchy revelries: Kinky parties in Moscow kicked to the curb

Moscow's steamy nights are getting a cold shower as authorities crack down on the city's sizzling sex parties, leaving partygoers and pleasure-seekers in the lurch.

The infamous ‘Kinky Party’ project, known for its risqué rendezvous and adult antics, has announced a shocking halt to its nearly eight-year run of debauchery in the Russian capital, following a stern warning from the powers that be.

These aren’t your average Friday night fiestas; the Kinky Party has been the go-to for Moscow’s adventurous souls, offering a tantalizing menu of sex-themed escapades, complete with a strict dress code that leaves little to the imagination. With a motto suggesting “everything is possible” within the bounds of Russian law, attendees were free to explore their wildest desires, provided consent was the name of the game.

However, the party’s planned eighth-anniversary bash has been abruptly axed, leaving many to wonder where the night will take them next.

In a hush-hush message to their followers on Telegram, the Kinky Party organizers spilled the tea on the government’s gag order, stating they’ve been barred from throwing their signature soirees “in the previous format.”

Despite their insistence that all past parties played by the book, creating a “safe, respectful environment for free expression,” it seems the authorities are pulling the plug on anything remotely related to sex topics.

The crackdown isn’t limited to just the underground scene; it’s part of a broader push by Russian lawmakers to stamp out what they see as the promotion of “non-traditional sexual relations.” This includes everything from LGBTQ+ rights to any event that dares to defy conventional norms, as seen in the recent uproar over a scandalous party thrown by popular Russian blogger Anastasia Ivleeva.

The bash, which featured a barely-there dress code and drew in top names from the Russian entertainment world, ended in apologies, cancellations, and hefty fines for some unlucky guests caught in the act.

As the Kinky Party looks to neighboring Georgia to continue their provocative parties, the question on everyone’s lips is whether this is a temporary timeout or the end of an era for Moscow’s erotic entertainment.

One thing’s for sure: the city’s nightlife just got a lot less naughty.
